Punam Rahman, PsyD, ABPP (Rp), Current President

 

Punam Rahman, PsyD, ABPP is a board-certified rehabilitation psychologist who provides treatment and conducts cognitive assessments for a diverse range of people affected by neurological diseases and injuries. Currently, she works at Shepherd Center within the inpatient SCI department and intensive SCI outpatient program. She is passionate about helping patients with spinal cord injuries/dual diagnosis achieve their optimal level of functioning, compassionately helping them navigate through the challenging transitions. Dr. Rahman graduated from the University of Rochester with her bachelor's degree before obtaining her Psy.D. from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Rahman completed her internship at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York with a one-year neurorehabilitation fellowship at Weiss Memorial Hospital. Dr. Rahman also serves as the SCI Rehabilitation Psychology training coordinator and is the chair of the Patient and Family Experience Committee. Dr. Rahman’s clinical interests include adjustment to disability, outreach to a broader range of psychologists early in training (including both undergraduate and graduate students), and mentorship.

Alicia F Hegie, Psy.D., ABPP (Rp), Outgoing President

 

Alicia F Hegie, Psy.D., ABPP (Rp) is a Rehabilitation Neuropsychologist working at St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute, primarily serving the traumatic brain injury (TBI), spinal cord injury (SCI), and pediatric populations. Her primary clinical and research interest including non-pharmacological management of agitation, patient and family adjustment to disability, and patient advocacy/ethics. She is a former chair of the Rehab Riff Raff, and is also a United States Air Force veteran (served most recently at the rank of Major).

Tiffanie S. Wong, PhD, ABPP (Rp) Incoming President

 

Tiffanie Sim Wong, Ph.D., ABPP(RP) is a Rehabilitation Neuropsychologist at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System, primarily serving individuals with neurologic conditions and psychiatric comorbidities. She also serves as an organizational development psychologist for the hospital system and director of an outpatient neuro-rehabilitation clinic. Professional and research interests include the following: neuropsychology and integrative cognitive rehabilitation, including TBI/stroke, PTSD, Substance Use Disorders, and cognitive adaptations to treatment.

Randi Lincoln, PhD, ABPP (Rp) Board Treasurer

 

Randi Lincoln, Ph.D., ABPP (Rp) is a Board Certified Rehabilitation Psychologist at the Spinal Cord Injury/Disorders program at VA Puget Sound Health Care System, Seattle Division. Her primary clinical and research interests are in management of chronic pain, post-traumatic growth and resiliency, and sexual health in persons with disabilities. She is a former chair of Rehab Riff Raff and has held multiple leadership positions at VA Puget Sound HCS.

Daniel W. Klyce, Ph.D., ABPP (Rp) Board Secretary

 

Daniel W. Klyce, Ph.D., LCP, ABPP, is the co-director of the Polytrauma Rehabilitation Center’s TBI Model Systems project at the Richmond VA Medical Center. He is an affiliate assistant professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Virginia Commonwealth University. He serves as the Rehabilitation Psychology Advisor at the Sheltering Arms Institute in Richmond, VA. His clinical and research interests include psychological adjustment to traumatic injuries, delirium management, caregiving families, clinical measurement, and ethical decision-making in teams.

Kathleen T. Bechtold., ABPP (Rp), Liaison/President, American Board of Rehabilitation Psychology

 

Kathleen T. Bechtold, Ph.D., ABPP is a clinical psychologist who is board certified in clinical neuropsychology and rehabilitation psychology and specializes in the assessment and treatment of individuals with brain injury. She is an Associate Professor within the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and has been an active researcher for the past twenty years focusing on recovery and adaptation to brain injury. She is the Psychology Training Director for the Johns Hopkins Department of PM&R and provides supervision and training to psychology postdoctoral fellows, physiatry residents, and neuropsychiatry fellows in brain injury care. Dr. Bechtold is the President of the American Board of Rehabilitation of Psychology, serves on the American Board of Professional Psychology Ethics Committee, and previously served as a Trustee to the American Board of Professional Psychology. 

Danielle Blinstrubas, PysD., ABPP (Rp), Member at Large

 

Danielle Blinstrubas, PsyD, is a Board-Certified Rehabilitation Psychologist at The Hospital for Special Care in New Britain, Connecticut. She completed undergraduate studies in Psychology at Florida State University and a MSW at the University of Alabama. She completed doctoral studies in clinical psychology with specialization in neuropsychological at the Georgia School of Professional Psychology and a postdoctoral fellowship at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center. Prior to joining The Hospital for Special Care, she previously worked at Rancho Los Amigos, Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, and TIRR-Memorial Hermann (The Institute for Rehabilitation and Research. Her areas of expertise include (1) assessment and treatment of patients with brain injury, SCI, neuromuscular disorders, amputations, and other complex medical conditions; (2) evaluation and treatment of adjustment to medical illness and disability; (3) psychotherapy and psychoeducation for anxiety, depression, stress management, coping, pain, and sleep; and (4) cognitive screenings and comprehensive neuropsychological assessment.

Charles Bombardier, PhD, ABPP (Rp) Member at Large

 

Charles Bombardier, PhD, ABPP is a Professor of Rehabilitation Psychology in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Washington, Seattle. He is especially interested in depression, exercise/physical activity, substance use and chronic pain in people with TBI, SCI and MS.

Lisa A. Brenner, Ph.D., ABPP (Rp), Member at Large

 

Lisa A. Brenner, Ph.D., is a Board-Certified Rehabilitation Psychologist, a Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R), Psychiatry, and Neurology at the University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus, and the Director of the Department of Veterans Affairs Rocky Mountain Mental Illness Research, Education, and Clinical Center (MIRECC). Dr. Brenner is the Past President of Division 22 (Rehabilitation Psychology) of the American Psychological Association (APA) and an APA Fellow. She is also the Vice Chair of Research for the Department of PM&R. Dr. Brenner serves as an Associate Editor of the Journal of Head Trauma Rehabilitation. Her primary areas of research interest is traumatic brain injury, co-morbid psychiatric disorders, and negative psychiatric outcomes including suicide. Dr. Brenner has numerous peer-reviewed publications, participates on national advisory boards, and has recently co-authoring a book titled: Suicide Prevention After Neurodisability: An Evidence-Informed Approach.

Nancy Hsu, Psy.D., ABPP (Rp), Member at Large

 

Nancy Hsu, Psy.D., ABPP (RP) is an Associate Professor and the Director of Outpatient Neuropsychology & Rehabilitation Psychology Services in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). Her clinical practice primarily consists of providing therapy to individuals with traumatic brain injury (TBI), focusing on adjustment issues, building resiliency skills, and addressing complex trauma. She currently serves as Secretary on the Rehabilitation Psychology Division’s (Div22) Practice Committee and a member of the Div22’s Diversity Committee.

Tiffany Meites, PhD, ABPP (Rp), Member at Large

 

Tiffany Meites, Ph.D., ABPP is a rehabilitation psychologist at Barrow Neurological Institute/St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ. She serves on the inpatient neurorehabilitation unit. Her clinical interests include adjustment to illness/disability, providing psychoeducation, and working with individuals with acute spinal cord injury, acquired brain injury, and other complex medical conditions. She is a former chair of the Rehab Riff Raff.

Danielle Miro, Ph.D., ABPP (Rp), Member at Large

 

Danielle Miro, PhD, ABPP (RP) is an outpatient psychologist in practice with DC Health Psychology. She is especially interested in health promotion, adjustment to new or chronic medical illness, and care partnership. 

Stephanie Reid-Arndt, Ph.D., ABPP (Rp), Member at Large

 

Stephanie Reid-Arndt, PhD, APBB is a Professor of Health Psychology and Senior Associate Dean at the University of Missouri School of Health Professions. She served as an elected member of the executive board of Division 22 (Rehabilitation Psychology) of the American Psychological Association for 6 years (as Member-at-Large and Secretary), and she is an APA Fellow. Prior to transitioning to academic administrator roles, her clinical and research interests focused on the effects of cognitive deficits on daily functioning and quality of life among neurological and medical populations

Aaron Turner, PhD, ABPP (Rp) Member at Large

 

Aaron Turner, PhD, ABPP (RP) is the Director of Rehabilitation Psychology at VA Puget Sound Health Care System and is a Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Washington. He serves as the attending psychologist of the inpatient rehabilitation service and is track lead of the rehabilitation psychology postdoctoral fellowship program.
